Position Overview:
The Ministry Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the church, ensuring smooth communication, organization, and execution of ministry initiatives. This position requires a detail-oriented and tech-savvy individual who can effectively manage church data, coordinate volunteer and visitor engagement, oversee office operations, and provide administrative support to the pastoral staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Assist pastors and ministry leaders with scheduling, communication, and event planning.
- Manage church calendar and coordinate ministry activities, meetings, and special events.
- Prepare and distribute church-wide communications, newsletters, and bulletins.
- Maintain confidential records, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist pastors in maintaining and following church Bylaws and policies.
Office Management:
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure an organized, efficient, and welcoming environment.
- Maintain inventory and order office and ministry supplies as needed.
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and scheduling of facility use in collaboration with facility team members.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and foot traffic, offering professional and courteous assistance.
- Develop and implement basic administrative systems and processes to improve workflow.
- Organize and maintain digital and physical filing systems, including church documents, forms, and policies.
Technology & Media Management:
- Maintain and update the church database, tracking member and visitor information.
- Oversee visitor follow-up processes, ensuring timely communication and engagement.
- Manage church social media accounts, website updates, and email communications.
- Upload and manage sermon recordings, videos, and livestreams on YouTube and other platforms.
- Assist in creating digital and printed materials for ministry promotions.
Ministry Coordination:
- Support ministry teams by organizing resources, scheduling volunteers, and tracking attendance.
- Facilitate communication between ministry leaders, volunteers, and church members.
- Assist in planning and executing outreach and discipleship initiatives.
- Oversee hospitality efforts, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors and members.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for ministry.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with database management software.
- Experience with social media platforms, website management, and video uploading (e.g., YouTube, Facebook, Instagram).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
- Basic graphic design and video editing skills are a plus (e.g., Canva, Adobe, iMovie).
- Proficiency in Apple Products (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) or Microsoft Office, with a strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. Must be competent in using Apple computers.
- Willingness to be an active participant in the church community.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in administration, office management, or ministry coordination.
- Knowledge of church operations and ministry structures.
- Experience in volunteer management and event coordination.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
- Flexible schedule with availability for some Sunday services and evening/weekend events as needed.
- Full-time hours available, Monday through Friday.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
