Youth Resident (One-Year Residency)
Compensation: $32,000 – $40,000 annually
Position Type: Full-time, One-Year Term
Reports To: Lead Pastor and Family Ministry Director
Position Summary
The Youth Resident is a one-year, entry-level ministry position designed to provide hands-on experience in student ministry. The resident will partner with the Lead Pastor and Family Ministry Director to disciple, teach, and equip middle school and high school students to grow in their faith. This role offers the opportunity to gain practical ministry experience, receive intentional mentoring, and explore a future calling to full-time ministry.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Discipleship & Teaching
- Help plan and lead weekly middle school and high school gatherings.
- Teach Bible-based lessons and facilitate small group discussions.
- Build meaningful relationships with students through mentoring and pastoral care.
- Program & Event Support
- Assist in planning and leading youth events, retreats, camps, and mission trips.
- Support youth involvement in Sunday services and churchwide ministries.
- Partner with volunteers, parents, and ministry leaders to ensure smooth program execution.
- Leadership Development
- Encourage, support, and help train student leaders and adult volunteers.
- Model Christlike character and servant leadership for students.
- Ministry Development & Growth
- Collaborate with the Family Ministry Director and youth team to create engaging ministry environments.
- Contribute creative ideas for outreach, discipleship, and student engagement.
- Support broader church initiatives and serve in other ministry areas as needed.
Qualifications
- A growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated by personal integrity and spiritual maturity.
- Must be a high school graduate (college degree not required; current students or those with some college experience are welcome).
- Passion for middle and high school students and a desire to see them follow Jesus.
- Some prior involvement in student ministry (volunteer or internship experience preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect with students and families.
- Teachable spirit and openness to mentoring and feedback.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
